SAME-DAY NOTIFICATION OF UNEXPLAINED STUDENT ABSENCES
Parents/carers have an obligation to notify the school of their child’s absence. Protecting the safety and wellbeing of children through reporting and monitoring of absenteeism is the responsibility of both parents/carers and the school. By the end of Term 2 2018, all government schools must contact parents/cares as soon as practicable on the day of an unexplained student absence. We will be notifying parent/carers of unexplained student absences via SMS after all rolls have been marked. Our aim is to begin this process in the next couple of weeks.
Please note that SMS notification comes at a cost to the school so we are asking parents/carers to ensure student absences are reported by 9:00am. You can record your child’s absence via Compass, Flexibuzz or by phoning the office on 9484 3949 and pressing 1.
To assist us in a smooth operation it is imperative your family details are up-to-date with correct mobile phone numbers. Please notify the school if you, or your nominated emergency contacts, have changed mobile numbers.
To check your details ‘Student Enrolment Information Forms’ can be sent home. Please contact the office on 9484 3949 or email your request to or email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
